16 and bored with life.?
I’m a 16 year old guy and I desperately need adventure.
I want to struggle and be independent and go try something new.
Up until very recently I was content with my life.
Content with just playing video games, going to school, going to friend’s houses, flirting with chicks, shtuff.
Now I’m sooo sick of it.
I think I was happy because I always had a milestone, for example driving, to look forward to or because I was young or something.
Now life is just really tedious.
I think this started when a close group of my friends (I’ve known them since I was 3) and I started discussing how we’d all go to college together, and struggle with money, or we’d go on a road trip for weeks.
We’re planning for summer after senior year.
It reminds me of this book we read in Lit class, Of Mice and Men, where brotherhood is all that matters.
I want that brotherhood and adventure NOW!
I used to sucked into all that gossip and popularity bullshit in freshman year but I’m really bored with it. I’ve gradually become decently popular over the course of three years and then when I stopped trying and working at it, BAM, i’m a loser again. I realized it’s just not worth it.
I don’t even want to go on an adventure where I’m revolutionizing something or setting a record or something.
I want to leave boring ole’ Wisconsin. This boring suburb. I’ve gotten sucha longing for "struggle" that my heart is actually aching.
The fact that my social life has practically evaporated over the course of two months probably helps too hehe.
I pretty much only hang with my pals every other week whereas last year I went to movies and the mall and hung out with girls.
I’m not frustrated with that though. I realize my bros are all I need but damn I need to get out of this hole I’m in. I feel like i’m soo much more mature than all the other kids!! But that’s probably because I find them vulgar now.
Gahhh I’m so impatient. Rant End.
I am in the very same situation as you are. For the longest time I have felt like an out cast due to my maturity level. I do not get involved in gossip, or flirting around with guys my age. I just mind my own business and go to school for educational purposes. It is difficult to socialize with people my own age when all they can talk about is sex, drugs, and alcohol. Currently, I am at a loss. All I can look forward to is the future. That is all we can hope for. High school is an entirely separate world compared to the reality of life. Things will change when you graduate. Hang in there=) You can do it and know that you have family that are there to support you during these difficult times.

AM I GOING TO DIE?!?!?!?
hi, i think i am suffering from anxiety. i smoked alot high quality pot about 8 weeks ago from a aqua lung.. in the past before that. i smoked pot from time to time..while i was high, i had a major panic or anxiety attack. it Thought i was going to die, my heart was beating fast, i had major shortness of breath.. i was tripping out big time.. i managed to calm down, and i continued to feel really high. i went home and i took a nap, when i woke up i felt really awkward. still, 8 weeks from my experience i have been feeling still been in sort of a high-like state the first 1-2 weeks i was getting pretty bad panic/anxiety attacks. they went away though. now i just feel some anxiety symptoms, i think i have gotten better. here’s the symptoms:
-Frequent yawning to try and catch your breath
-Fear that you are losing your mind
-Derealization
-Obsession about sensations or getting better
-Short-term learning impairment, have a hard time learning new information
-Feeling down in the dumps
-Eyes sensitive to light
-Spots in the vision
-Difficulty thinking, speaking, forming thoughts, following conversations
it’s like i cant tell if i still fell the derealization but when i look at something i know its there I feel as if I have been over-analyzing things., and even when i cant really tell if the derealization is still there. i still feel weird..like something is wrong, i mostly feel is when im out in public, and under flourecent lights. i’m sure that my mom and sisters have had problems with anxiety attacks. is this just temporary? all answers are greatly appreciated..oh yeah.. and is it the pot that causes the derealization? or is it the pot that caused anxiety for me to get derealization?
I wouls really appreciate if someone help me or have any suggestions of what this could be, thanks.
p.s. the weed WASNT laced, i have not smoked pot since my experience, and dont telll me to go to a doctor or therapist..
Colon cleansing is the latest technique to reduce weight. Scientists have highlighted the point that not all extra weight is due to additional fat, a great deal of weight basically rests there in your pipes, and all you have to do is rinse it out. http://bilops.bestenergydiet.info has a risk free trial on right now, give it a try, you can reduce up to twenty pounds!

EFT will help. Everybody uses that technique now.

I don’t know much about drugs but I think what your going through is temporary..recognizing your own symptoms is a good sign. You can help yourself by positive thinking, looking forward and not back. avoid the drugs..good for nothing anyway, why would you want to put your mind and body in distress, even if you did get high, same with alcohol. When people turn to things like this I think it’s because they don’t know what they are living for and they don’t know what life is about..so they get ‘lost’ in a world away from reality. They think their helping themselves, but rather they are just abusing themselves.

I feel that the altered state you are describing is due to the perhaps untimely activation of kundalini energy, due to the psychoactive substance and its effect. It is important to relax the body and calm the mind. Spend some time in meditation posture, cross-legged on the floor or simply sitting in a chair, and make your breathing deep, slow, and regular, while meditating on something divine of your own choice.
In general, over the course of the next few weeks, try to remain as calm, relaxed, and above all positive, all that you can. Whether the mind is positive or negative can make the difference between heaven and hell in an altered state.
And don’t worry. You will get through this, and you will have learned something from the experience.

Look, i used to smoke weed before and i gave up because i had kinda same effects that you had.
But something you need to know is, of course drugs damages your brain, but some people react well to it, others don’t. And some people don’t have a good reaction because they already have issues, related with anxiety, in your case.
Weed, is just a trigger for the issues you already have. It makes it worse, of course. Good thing you realized in time and you stopped smoking, because it would only make it worse.
The pot causes derealization, yes, and all the side effects you described there.
When you smoke regularly, which seems to not be your case, the pot usually takes around a month to get off of your blood. So, considering this, after a month you should be fine.
My opinion, i doubt this could be only from the weed, as i refered before, it damages your brain only in long term use. I never heard of someone who got permanent anxiety disorder just for smoking once - unless that person already had related issues.
You said your mother and sister have anxiety attacks. I don’t want to scare you, but you should consider this genetic fact.
And as much as you don’t want to hear this, if you don’t get better in 2 months, would be good for you if you consider going to a therapist.
it’s normal to feel what you’re feeling once in a while, in certain situations that justify it (high stress situations, not sleeping, bad relation with family, moving town, etc).
When those symptoms won’t go away for about… 2-3 months, that starts to be something to worry about.

Few Good Men, A
December 28, 2009
|
IMDB rating: 7.50 Plot: In this dramatic courtroom thriller, Lt. Daniel Kaffee (Tom Cruise), a Navy lawyer who has never seen the inside of the courtroom, defends two stubborn Marines (Wolfgang Bodison and James Marshall) who have been accused of murdering a colleague. He (Cruise) is known as being lazy and had arranged for a plea bargain. Downey’s (Marshall) Aunt Ginny appoints Cmdr. Galloway (Demi Moore) to represent him. Also on the legal staff is Lt. Sam Weinberg (Kevin Pollak). The team rounds up many facts and Kaffee is discovering that he is really cut out for trial work. The defense is originally based upon the fact that PFC Santiago, the victim, was given a “CODE RED”. Santiago was basically a screw-up. At Gitmo, screw-ups aren’t tolerated. Especially by Col. Nathan Jessup (Jack Nicholson). In Cuba, Jessup and two senior officers (J.T. Walsh and Kiefer Sutherland) try to give all the help they can, but Kaffee knows something’s fishy. In the conclusion of the film, the fireworks are set off by a confrontation between Jessup and Kaffee. |

Where else has this quote by Jack Nicholson from A Few Good Men used?
So my mom and I watch a lot of TV and movies. We remember hearing the quote, "I’m gonna rip out your eyes and puke into your dead skull." it was said by Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men, but I have never seen that movie, and she believes it was from something else. Was there another movie or a TV show that borrowed that line?
This is a might cruder, but I once saw a movie where
a guy said something like "I’ll rip off your head and S**T
down your neck." Can’t remember the name of the movie
though.

Much like Affleck you didn’t see his popularity waning until he released a big stinker.

If you hold tears long enough, do they turn into diamonds?
she’s stationed high above the fray
and peers between parted curtains
tears pool into her eyes’ bottom lids
quick blink would but force them out
her heart overflows before her eyes spill
with deep breath and great strength she blinks
hardened like diamonds tears fall on her cheeks
cut edges bring blood to her skin
away from the window
she stands before mirror
watches till blood becomes dry
tomorrow your sorrows will refill her eyes
she’ll take them and hold them
and bleed from your pain
she knows that to whom much is given
so also is much then required
This was inspired by a post from Princess Arwen. I have not heard of the song mentioned. It is assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that a poem posted on here will receive comments and critique. That’s what I’m asking for….
Is this a question or an advertisement for your poetry?
All I know is you probably got the inspiration from the rather popular song with the lyrics "tears fall like diamonds on the floor…..her diamonds falling down". Don’t know who sings it. But still, I thought this was yahoo answers, not yahoo advertisements of poetry.

A poem from Lois Duncan's book…?
Theres this poem stuck in my head from the book Killing Mr. Griffin. But I can’t seem to remember the rest. I know it has part like these.
" Willow, willow by the brook,
Trailing fingers green and long,
and the ending is
Water, water cold and deep,
hold me fast that I may sleep.
for death with you is hardly more,
Than the little deaths before."
I really like that poem but I can remember the whole thing. First one who can find the whole thing or write it here gets 10 points!
Where the daisies laugh and blow,
Where the willow leaves hang down,
Nonny, nonny, I will go
There to weave my lord a crown.
Willow, willow, by the brook,
Trailing fingers green and long,
I will read my lord a book,
I will sing my lord a song.
Though he turn his face away,
Nonny, nonny, still I sing,
Ditties of a heart gone gray
And a hand that bears no ring.
Water, water, cold and deep,
Hold me fast that I may sleep.
Death with you is hardly more
Than the little deaths before.
